Membership -- Overview

ACRA is open to all individuals employed, previously employed, or interested in the oncology data specialist profession, certified or non certified. No person, otherwise qualified for membership in this association, will be denied membership in this association because of race, religion, sex, origin, or political affiliation.

 

 

Membership – Benefits

ACRA members enjoy the following benefits with payment of their annual dues:

  • Reduced registration fees at ACRA sponsored meetings
  • A copy of the newsletter “The ACRA Newsletter”
  • ODS-C pin for members in good standing who pass the ODS-C/CTR exam
  • Access to the restricted Member section of the website
  • Access to the ACRA bylaws
  • A complete membership roster
  • Access to minutes from prior Annual Business Meetings
  • The opportunity to easily network with other registrars throughout the state of AL

Classification of Membership

Active:  An active member shall be an Oncology Data Specialist - Certified or a person whose primary occupation is involved with any or all facets of Oncology Data.  An active member in good standing shall be entitled to all membership privileges including the right to vote, hold office an chair or serve on a committee.


Inactive:  An individual who previously qualified, as an active member but is no longer in the work force is eligible to be an inactive member.


Associate:  An associate member shall be any person interested in the purpose of ACRA who does not meet the qualifications of active membership.  An associate member may not vote, hold office or chair a committee but may be appointed to serve on a committee.

Honorary Life Membership:  Past presidents automatically become Honorary Life Members upon their retirement from active membership.  They will retain voting privileges without payment of dues.

Honorary Membership:  Any person who has made a significant contribution to the profession of  Oncology Data/Cancer Registry Administration or rendered distinguished service in the profession or its related fields may be elected to Honorary Membership by an unanimous vote of the active members present and voting, his/her name having been recommended by the Board of Directors.  These members shall be exempt from dues and shall possess none of the rights and privileges of other classes of membership.  An Honorary Member may hold no other class of Membership in ACRA.

 

Membership – Application

Thank you for your interest in joining ACRA. Benefits of membership include our quarterly newsletter, reduced registration fees for educational meetings, educational materials, leadership and networking opportunities. To get involved with ACRA, consider working on a committee, submitting an article to the newsletter, or running for office. Your suggestions, ideas and comments are always welcome! Annual dues are $30.00 for ACTIVE membership and $15.00 for Student membership.
